WriterHouse classes still enrolling

There are still some slots available in the summer session writing class line-up at WriterHouse. Screenwriting starts tonight, with intructor Meredith Cole. If you’re a screenwriter or would like to be, this is an excellent chance to hone your script. Creative writing for teens begins Wednesday night, with Carey Morton. Andrew Ewell will be teaching creative nonfiction on Wednesdays, also. Thursday night Kristen-Paige Madonia will be conducting a fiction workshop. If you’re interested in one of these classes you can bring your payment in during open hours, or give us a call (434 296 1922) or email us to check on space available.

Full disclosure: I’m on the board of directors at WriterHouse. But I’m also a (would-be) writer, and I have taken classes from Andrew and Kristen-Paige, both of whom are excellent instructors. In both classes, the discussion was stimulating and the atmosphere for sharing our writing could not have been more supportive. As for the teen class, my son had Carey as an English teacher for two years at Tandem Friends School, and I can’t say enough good things about her as a teacher and a person.

Adult classes run 8 weeks and cost $200, with a discount for WriterHouse members. The cost of the teen class is $100 for four weeks.

So, are you ready to write? See you this week!
