The Virginia Arts of the Book Center is pleased to host an event featuring the newly completed collaboration by poet Ryan Fox and illustrator Jeff Pike, After Love. The reading, discussion of the illustrations, and signing will be held Thursday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. at its 977 Second Street location (within the Ix Complex).
This hand-bound edition of 50 books features seven poems in hand-letterpressed text with corresponding watercolor and ink illustrations (giclée printing). After Love was conceived and manufactured by the poet and artist with the help of the University of Virginia Art Department and book artisans at the Virginia Arts of the Book Center.
Copies of After Love will be on sale for $60, as will other broadsides, cards, and prints by VABC artists.

Jeff Pike is a professor in the Communication Design program at the College & Graduate School of Art, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Washington University in St. Louis. He worked in Charlottesville while on sabbatical last year.
Ryan Fox received his M.F.A. from the University of Virginia in 2006. His poems have been published in the Iowa Review, the New Ohio Review, the New Orleans Review, and elsewhere.
