Alexander Lowell at Random Row Books, December 4

Random Row Books Presents:

A reading by Alexander Lowell

Saturday, December 4th at 7 pm

Mr. Lowell will read from his two recently published books. Roll Away the Stone is the first in a series of mysteries featuring Stavros Odysseos, a Greek Cypriot poet/occasional detective who lives in Astoria, Queens.  Stavros has been asked by a friend to find a young female Croatian journalist who has disappeared while working on a book exposing an international sex trafficking business that helped to fund the recent Balkan wars.  The story takes place in Astoria, the Catskills and Cyprus and touches briefly on Cypriot and Balkan history.

The Look of Love is a collection of 17 poems and a long prose poem memory of Mexico. Some of the poems appeared in Rolling Stone, Bananas (England), Gairfish, Poetry Motel and other journals.

Mr. Lowell has written locally for Flavor Magazine and the Virginia Wine Gazette.
